If you’re curious about what Windows Vista looks like and maybe get the idea of the benefits you may get from using it, you can read it here in “The Five Best and Worst Things About Vista”.
I must say I’m not impressed with the basic usage patterns in Windows Vista. For me, the way the GUI behaves doesn’t really matter as long as it’s reasonable and I’m quite happy with Windows XP. However, I’m wondering what Vista has to offer for programmers. (via Digg)
I am really pissed off with the current graphical interface of XP. Would consider getting a mac just because of that.
I always use the Windows classic theme, without any effects. This is really optimized for performance, both the computer’s and mine. Seeing a menu roll sideways or down was nice for about the first five minutes I used Windows 98. After that I disabled everything and never looked back.
What do you mean? Have you ever seen the interface of Mac? If you work with more than one window it is much more convenient
I know, because (unlike Windows) in Macintosh you usually don’t maximize windows to the entire screen, and there’s the dock and the menu is always on top so it’s easier to get to.
Maybe it’s because I’m already used to it, but I usually work with less than 5 windows open. And when I say “work” I mean that I mostly use one of them and the others I look at from time to time. So I guess I got used to Windows.
And as for your intention of buying a Mac, looks like you’re not the only one. “Apple’s Macs at highest point ever on consumer ‘intent to purchase’ index”: http://www.macsimumnews.com/index.php/archive/macs_at_highest_point_ever_on_consumer_intent_to_purchase_index/
