So I have a fetish for strange and funny gadgets. It’s my blog, so deal with it. Here’s a new collection of the top 10 funniest gadgets by TechEBlog. Some of them were featured here before, but it’s still a nice collection.
Would You Buy Pizza From A Vending Machine?
Considering that I haven’t had pizza in about 2.5 years, I definitely wouldn’t buy pizza from a vending machine. I mean, if I’m going to get all this fat and cholesterol into my body – it shouldn’t come from a vending machine “wonder pizza”. But if you’re very hungry and low on options… let me know how it tasted. (via Digg)
7 Strange Gadgets You Don’t Want To Be Seen Using
Some gadgets just make me think that the ideas running around in my head can actually work. I mean, if they got funding I probably can, too. For example, this list of 7 strange gadgets you don’t want to be seen using. My number 1: the finger shaped hair trimmer. It’s so “innovative”. Just makes you say “how didn’t I think of that myself?”
Don’t Wash Dishes… Create Them (Video)
The Dishmaker, still in development, is a device that creates dishes out of acrylic material so that when you’re done eating from them you can place them back in the machine for re-use, without the need to wash them. Watch the video – it’s actually a cool idea. I only wish they would somehow apply this to laundry.
Sonic Bomb Alarm Clock
If you’re a heavy sleeper, and when I say heavy I mean as in airport-traffic-sleepy kind of heavy, then you should take a look at the Sonic Bomb Alarm Clock. It not only makes a sound at 113 decibels (adjustable), it also shakes your bed. (via Digg)
WOW
Wow. That’s the only thing I can say about the new Apple iPhone. Wow.
(also: I want one)
LEGO Car Building LEGO Factory Video
Confused by the title? You should be. It’s a factory made out of LEGO blocks, which creates cars made out of LEGO blocks. It’s extremely geeky, but still a pretty amazing fit. You didn’t know you could do that with LEGO when you were kids, right? I sure didn’t. Check out this video. It’s a bit long, but pretty cool (and extremely geeky).
Synchronized Lyrics, (kind of) like my IKDB idea
A long time ago I told you about an idea I had for a lyrics database that could also be used for Karaoke (previous post link). Now I read that Microsoft’s Zune (the failing-so-far iPod competitor) is going to get a feature called “Synchronized Lyrics”. This is a reasonable advancement for digital audio players (DAPs) now that they already show the album covers and art on the screen while playing songs. So – another one of my ideas gets implemented. I wonder what the lyrics format will be. If it will be an open one, I predict that pretty soon an open database will come to life.
Clocky, The Hiding Alarm Clock, Is Actually A Product Now
What was a concept before (previous post link) is now actually a product: Clocky, the clock that hides once you hit the snooze button, so you’ll have to find it in order to stop it screaming. Luckily, I don’t have trouble waking up once the radio softly turns itself on in the morning. (via Digg)
Leo Laporte Talks About Microsoft’s Zune
The Zune is Microsoft’s iPod competitor. It came out with a lot of marketing but failed to match any reasonable sales expectations. It is mostly criticized as being incomplete and immature. Personally, I think the first version of Microsoft stuff always comes out lacking, but Microsoft stays for the long haul and delivers a fine product in later versions. Right now, however, you can see Leo Laporte talk about the Zune and see for yourself why it (currently) sucks. (via Digg)
