Funny Stuff That Makes YouTube Great

There has been a lot of talk about YouTube’s problem with protected (copyrighted) videos users upload to the site. However, YouTube has a lot of original content created by users. I believe that’s actually YouTube’s creators’ original intentions, but who knows.

One of these users calls himself Doctor Ashen. He creates his own original videos (all of his videos here), but I especially like his reviews of crappy electronics, both modern and oldies. Here are some examples:

Microsoft Surface Parody Video

If you actually read this blog, you may remember that I found something funny in Microsoft’s Surface promotional videos (post link):

One thing I thought was funny in the videos was when the handsome young man and woman sit in front of each other in a pub and then, naturally, start playing with the computer on both sides of the table.

I wasn’t the only one who thought that, apparently. Here’s a parody video that dubs over Microsoft’s.

LOLCODE – The Language That Wasn’t Really Supposed To Be

The author of LOLCODE didn’t intend for the language to become a real language so fast, but in a matter of weeks it now has over 10 implementations.

But what’s so special about LOLCODE? Here’s a typical code sample, which prints a file to the screen:

Google Street View + Funny Findings

Google has a new feature for Google Maps: Street View. Although it’s not a new feature on the Internet, when Google does it everyone gets excited anyway. So here’s one sample of Street View of what it’s like to drive on The Washington Bridge in New York.

But of course, there are people out there crazier than me, looking for weird, funny, interesting and even sad stuff on Google Street View. Here are 15 of the current findings.

Google, as usual, have put in a little easter egg (what’s a computer easter egg) of their own in Street View: the entire Google Maps team standing outside as the Street View vehicle takes shots. (via Digg)

Shoot Paintballs At Some Iraqi Dude

This Iraqi artist, Wafaa Bilal, decided to make a statement or something artistic like that. What’s great about this is the way he decided to do it: he set himself in a room for six weeks and by logging on to a website you can shoot paintballs at him (aim the gun with the right/left arrows and click the gun icon to shoot). Good luck!

Oh, and if you’re interested in the artistic part of the whole thing, you can see his video diary and read some article about it. But really… who cares? You get to shoot an Iraqi guy. (via Download Squad)
