The Forecasting Unbrella

This umbrella is supposed to predict the weather for you in some innovative way. Sometimes I really don’t know how marketing works. It must be something like that:
“Let’s make an umbrella that can predict the weather. I mean it’s just natural to ask your umbrella if it’s going to rain or not. For example, I always want to ask my underwear if it’s time to wash them. Let’s make that product too and call it the wash-me-already panties.”

Google Video takes it up a notch

Google has recently announced that its video service, Google Video, is going to become an online video store service. It’s a service in the sense that video content publishers, e.g. TV networks, will be able to put video content (TV shows) in Google Video and let users download it free or for a price.

To enable the miscellaneous pricing schemes (like allowing a person to watch a video only a certain number of times) Google Video will use their own Digital Rights Management (DRM) technology. DRM has been a controversial issue ever since it was introduced, as it touches the delicate issue of online privacy. So Google is already taking the heat for that, even before launching the video online store.

Personally, I want to see if and how Google will change the video and TV world. Although I do care about privacy issues, changes in the current TV viewing model are long overdue.

How fast can you stack cups?

I didn’t know this was an actual sport, but it turns out cup stacking is a pretty famous thing. Check out Emily Fox’s record video. Just to show you how serious this thing is, you can also look at Speed Stacks for the latest news on cup stacking.

Searching even further into Google’s soon-to-be-official video marketplace, Google Video, I found that cup stacking is not the only cup game around. There’s also cup flipping, although not an official sport like stacking, flipping is more of a social game.
