In this track I used one shots from this Nordic Electronic sample pack on Loopmasters and this patch for the online Europa synthesizer, which I created myself.
PO-33 “Europa”
In this track I include a sound that I created myself using the online Europa synthesizer. Here’s the patch I used to create the sound you hear in the background for the entire duration of the track. You can load it into the online synth and play around with it, which is really cool.
I really enjoyed creating the sound and I learned a lot, although I barely scratched the surface of sound creation.
The rest of the sounds are from this sample pack of ethnic instruments.
PO-33 “Weirdo”
This track was made only with the default sounds of the PO-33. Even though it’s a slow-sounding track, its BPM is actually 140. It’s not my first attempt to create such a track, but this one finally came out… well… OK. It’s little weird, hence the name.
PO-33 “You Know How I Feel”
In this track I tried sampling a song, namely Nina Simone’s “Feeling Good”:
Here’s the original, wonderful song:

I first learned about this song through the Muse’s cover, which is also great and maintains the original feeling of the song while giving it Muse’s unique sound. Here’s their cover:
PO-33 “Wobble Wobble”
Unfortunately I don’t remember where I got the wobble sample from, which is a shame. But I tried so many samples for this track that I lost track (ha ha).
PO-33 “Rushed”
I had to rush this one out before going on vacation. Using some ravey sounds it came out pretty nice. At the end it falls a little short, though.
I used the following samples from the “Loopmasters Welcome Free Samplepack”, which you get after registering to Loopmasters:
THE_MEDIKS_DRUM_&_BASS_SURGERY/MED_SOUNDS_AND_FX/MED_F_Get_ravey_synth.wav THE_MEDIKS_DRUM_&_BASS_SURGERY/MED_SOUNDS_AND_FX/MED_F_Obey_synth.wav
PO-33 “Tough Luck”
This one took quite a long time and didn’t come out as well as I would have liked. Mainly I wanted it to be more energetic. I’m glad I finished it, though. It contains more melody and beat variations than the other tracks I made so far, and coping with dissatisfaction made me work harder to make it decent.
I used two samples of the PO-14 and this computer beep sample.
PO-33 “Techno Trumpet Groove”
For this track I used this brass cut sample.
I wanted to use a trumpet sound and I also wanted to create a track with a higher BPM, so I started out with 160. Unsurprisingly this led me to create some sort of a techno track, but when I got halfway through the track changed into something slower (120 BPM) and different-sounding altogether. The mashup is kind of rough, but as usual – I like it :)
PO-33 “Three Beats”
For this track I used:
- Dubstep Empire Drum Kit – FX 11
- Apashe Drum Sample Pack – APASHE_TRAP_SYNTH11
In this short track I use a single bassline while switching the beat. There is no main melody, but I like the result.
