Questions Couples Should Ask Before Marrying – by New York Times

The New York Times magazine published a list of questions couples should ask (or wish they had) before marrying. They included a list of 15 key questions from “relationship experts”. While the list is interesting and seems pretty much like what you’d expect, I was surprised to see number 7:

7) Will there be a television in the bedroom?

Is this really such a key question in a relationship?

  1. It is, but I still wouldn’t expect it to be a crucial question to ask. I mean, if you can’t compromise on that in some way – you might as well get the divorce papers ready. Now that I think about it – I guess it’s a good indicator :)

  2. “You know what honey, let’s both compromise. I’ll agree that you’ll put the 42 LCD in the bedroom if you’ll accept my every other night beer with my friends. You know what, even more; I agree that you’ll sign up for all the cable’s channels, and if you insist even porn. You see how much I love you and willing to make you happy.” Do you understand now why it is a key issue?

  3. Hehe… turns out I already had porn before on the blog. I didn’t remember and didn’t even think to look :)
